Talk about amazing architecture. Last month in New York, a French chef by the name of Alain Roby set a new record for the creating the world’s tallest sculpture made out of chocolate. Roby, who is chef at a Chicago Hyatt, created a “skyscraper” made out of pure dark chocolate. The building is 20 feet 8 inches (6.4 meters), weighs in at a hefty 2,285lbs (1036.46kgs) and took over 30 hours to build.
Although the chocolate “skyscraper” wouldn’t look a bit out of place in the famed New York skyline, Chef Roby says it is not a replica of any particular building. He says, “There is a little bit of the Rockefeller Center, a little bit of the Empire (State Building) and a little bit of the Chrysler Building so everything is a little bit mixed together and my goal was really to reach the height.”
I would say his goal was met, and apparently so would the record books. A rep from the Guinness Book of World Records was there to measure all the entries. Roby’s record breaking chocolate skyscraper can be seen on display in New York’s famous midtown toy store, FAO Schwarz, along with the other amazing chocolate creations constructed for the event.
