Nicki Minaj and her new husband Kenneth Petty are reportedly planning a big celebration with family and friends after tying the knot in a “no frills” wedding on Monday (21Oct19).
The 36-year-old rapper confirmed she and Kenneth had exchanged vows as she shared a video on her Instagram page of matching “Mr and Mrs” mugs and “Bride and Groom” baseball caps.
In the caption, Nicki revealed her new name as she wrote: “Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty 10•21•19.”
Further details of the nuptials have now been revealed by TMZ, with sources telling the website that the couple married at a private home in Los Angeles with just a few members of their immediate families in attendance, as well as a minister to conduct the ceremony.
But the newlyweds are said to be planning a church service and huge celebration in the near future, although they are apparently in no rush for the event.
The insider added the only reason they went down the route of a small service initially is because their marriage license was due to expire, meaning they’d have had to apply for a new one and start again if they wanted to marry after the 90-day deadline had passed.
Their decision surrounding the nuptials is similar to that of Justin and Hailey Bieber, who initially wed in a New York courthouse in September 2018, before hosting another service and larger celebration last month.
