One Direction are on track to become the first billion dollar boy band by 2014.
The group, which consists of members Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan, owes a lot of the revenue to tickets sales alone, accounting for half of their fortune.
The remainder comes from album sales totaling $300 million (£200 million) and merchandise, while the upcoming release of their 3-D movie This Is Us is expected to earn approximately $150 million (£100 million).
One Direction formed in 2010 after the individual members competed as solo stars on reality show The X Factor in the U.K., and subsequently signed with Simon Cowell’s Syco Records.
