Don’t hold it against her, but Britney Spears has another No. 1.
Her latest beat-driven single, “Hold It Against Me” peaked at the top of iTunes within hours of its release, and this week Billboard made the record’s reign official: it also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
But Spears is used to such a victory. Her 2009 hit “3” also made its bow in the top spot. Following Ms. Spears is Bruno Mars, whose single “Grenade is No. 2, and Katy Perry’s “Fireworks” at No. 3.
Is this a sign that Spears’ upcoming album will also rise to No. 1? We’ll have to wait and see – the album is expected to drop in March.
