Rivals Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan narrowly avoided a run-in at Yash Raj studio, all thanks to Katrina Kaif
SRK and Salman Khan’s enmity has dragged on for years. And especially at Bollywood funerals, the two have found themselves in quite a sticky situation time and again. It happened last at Rajesh Khanna’s funeral in July, when the two had come face to face. It happened again this week during the wee hours of October 22, when the who is who from Bollywood were at Yash Chopra’s suburban studio to pay their respects to the late filmmaker.
The mood was solemn and the air heavy with the collective sighs of industry-wallas at the passing away of one of the greatest doyens of Hindi cinema. But that of course could not make two of the biggest names from the current crop of actors forget their hostility towards each other and unite in their sorrow.
Ever since the body of Chopra was brought back to the Yash Raj studio, Shah Rukh Khan did not leave its side. And like many others from the industry, Sallu too walked in to pay his last respects. Our source who was present at the location narrates, “Yashji’s wife Pamela was sitting near his body along with Shah Rukh. That’s when Salman walked in.
And then their eyes met!” Sallu apparently went rather stiff at seeing SRK next to the grieving widow. “Thank God for Katrina Kaif, who stepped forward and escorted him to meet Pamela. By then, SRK had moved from his spot and got busy with his iPad.”
