Jennifer Garner had a thriving career of her own before she married Ben Affleck and popped out three of the cutest celebrity babies of all time, and she doesn’t want people to forget that.
In a new interview with a magazine, Garner reveals that she attends some events solo just to separate herself from her equally as famous hubby. “It’s a very conscious decision,” she says of her decision to leave Ben at home with the kiddos. “Sometimes it’s a pain because my heels are so high and it would be nice to have his arm. And he’s such a great date!”
“But it can be too much,” Garner adds. “I think especially for women, they can really lose their identity and just become ‘wife of’.”
And even though Jen and Ben met on the set of 2003’s Daredevil, you probably won’t see the couple working together again anytime soon. “Really, you don’t want to see a couple onscreen,” Garner muses. “People see paparazzi shots of us together all the time. There’s no mystery… People are sick of us.”
It’s great that Jennifer Garner doesn’t want to be thought of as just Ben Affleck’s wife, but really, was anyone thinking about her in that way? If anything, she’s become better known as Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel’s mom, which looks like a pretty adorable gig to us.
