JC Chasez Launches Girl Group

Former ‘Nsync star JC Chasez has gone back to his pop roots to form a new group, Girl Radical.
Chasez shot to fame in the Bye Bye Bye boy-band, and now he has drawn on his experiences in ‘Nsync to launch his mega-group, which currently has 11 members.
The former America’s Best Dance Crew judge was inspired by the Japanese band Akb48, which has between 48 and 60 in the line-up at any given time.
Chasez tells Billboard magazine, “We saw one of their music videos and I was blown away. It was like this army on stage performing, and I’ve always been attracted to the spectacle. I was like, ‘We should build our own pop group, but in our own way.'”
Girl Radical’s first single is a cover of No Doubt’s 1995 hit Just A Girl.
