Far East Movement Originally Sang ‘Rocketeer’ With Bruno Mars

The Far East Movement scored a Top 10 hit with ‘Rocketeer,’ featuring OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder, but now a version has surfaced featuring the original vocals by Bruno Mars.

‘Rocketeer’ was the result of a large collaborative effort, and the version with Mars on vocals is most likely a demo. Mars co-wrote and co-produced the original track with his production team, the Smeezingtons, as well as with the Stereotypes.
Besides featuring the Grammy-winner’s soulful vocals, the Mars demo contains a few extra computerized effects but is largely similar to the released version with Tedder.
‘Rocketeer’ reached No. 7 in February, making it the second straight smash hit from the Far East Movement’s album ‘Free Wired,’ following ‘Like a G6.’
