Priyanka Chopra, who was recently in Srinagar shooting for Vishal Bhardwaj’s Saat Khoon Maaf, had a slip of the tongue, which hardly ever happens – which is why she is known as one of the actresses who is always politically correct.
Throughout her stay in J&K, Priyanka headlined the local media and people were well aware of her growing fondness of Kashmir. She even mentioned that she would consider being the ambassador for J&K.
However, arriving back home and after landing in New Delhi airport, Priyanka reportedly told a news channel that she enjoyed her stay in Kashmir, but was happy to be back to ‘civilization’.
“Some locals and even some political heavyweights are annoyed with Bollywood actors who come to Kashmir, sing paens in honour of the state, and then on their return to their homes, become careless in describing their stay in Kashmir. Strife ridden or otherwise, Srinagar is home for a whole load of people. One has to be very careful about what one says. The Kashmiri people are very sensitive about their home, just like any of us is,” says a source.
