Katy Perry Makes Billboard’s Hot 100 History!

Katy Perry made Billboard history early today when it was announced that her new single “Last Friday Night (TGIF)” was the fifth song off of her most recent album “Teenage Dream” to hit the Number 1 spot on the Billboard charts. That’s amazing!
The song soared to the top of Billboard’s Pop Songs chart on Monday, making her the only artist in the chart’s 19-year history to accomplish such a feat. Her singles also make up five out of the six titles with the highest-ever weekly play rates.

Katy has definitely had a successful year. Before breaking her Billboard record, she was nominated for four separate VMA’s in a single year, another astonishing record for an artist.
If “Last Friday Night (TGIF)” reaches Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, she’ll be joining Michael Jackson, who had five song from his album “Bad” reach the top of the Hot 100 charts.
Katy Perry is doing things right is surely an artist that’s here to say. We’re so glad, too! Her songs are always so fun and uplifting!
