Yash Chopra’s last directorial venture Jab Tak Hai Jaan has made a larger than live arrival at the Pakistani cinemas, with a blockbuster opening netting in 4 million in ticket sales on the first day alone.
The film opened in Pakistani cinemas on November 16th breaking all previous records with Nine thousand seats booked in advance.
The film is being distributed in Pakistan by IMGC Global. The Chairman of IMGC Global who also is a very close friend of late legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra, held a premiere of Jab Tak Hai Jaan at Atrium Karachi on November 15th. The special screening has been arranged to pay tribute to Yash Chopra and to celebrate his last directorial offering. A large number of celebrities attended the premiere and shared their thoughts about Yash Chopra.
It is not only in Pakistan that Jab Tak Hai Jaan endorsed a great opening; the movie has made record breaking openings across the world. Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh has termed it is the “best Diwali for Bollywood”, with huge openings through out the US, Europe and Australia.
Film critics have termed Jab Tak Hai Jaan as one of Yash Chopra’s finest romantic creations, which will keep the King of Romance alive in the hearts of viewers for a long time to come.
The script by Aditya Chopra, ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ raises the stakes on Bollywood romance to potentially explosive levels. Shah Rukh Khan plays Samar, a man leading a double life in London, who must choose between his wife and his muse.
Katrina Kaif plays Khan’s love interest in the movie in the first span, while Anushka Sharma is a 21 year old documentary maker for Discovery Channel who is introduced in the second phase.
With lots of positive reviews pouring in, Jab Tak Hai Jaan is a sure block buster depicting Yash Chopra’s trademark romance and passion for love in all its glory.
