Hammond, Indiana: On December 22nd 2012 Pink Magazine had the privilege of hanging out with MTV’s Jersey Shore star DJ Pauly D when he rocked out at The Venue at The Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana! We actually got an exclusive interview with the talented reality star a few minutes before he went on.
Pauly D was preceded Boi Jeanius and Special K from Chicago’s own local radio station 103.5 KISS FM. The upbeat personalities kept the crowd pumped as they eagerly awaited the former MTV Jersey Shore cast member.
DJ Pauly D got his start in Providence, Rhode Island at the young age of 16, where his first performance opportunity was at a Sweet Sixteen. He bought himself some affordable turntables and started playing around with them in his room. From the first gig he was hooked and with dedication and mentor-ship from his idol, DJ AM, Pauly knew music was his calling.
Supportive friends and family, especially from his mother, have led DJ Pauly D to be a household name. With his outgoing personality and diversified range of music, he guarantees his show attendees will be fist pumping all night long!
The final season of Jersey Shore just ended this past Thursday and Pauly D’s career seems to just be getting started. A new album, a SK Energy Drink partnership, his own line of headphones, various television offers in the works, and much more.
On January 15, Pauly drops his first single, which he worked on with Jay Sean, called “Back To Love”. He said, “…it makes you wanna get back with your ex-girlfriend, it’s so good!”
We didn’t have to wait to feel that good, DJ Pauly D went on a few minutes after our interview and played a 90-minute set that sent his VIP sections and the rest of the venue absolutely bananas. His varied and upbeat set, paired with his silver-wigged dancers made the night unforgettable.
Like it or not, DJ Pauly D has established an act to beat on the 1s and 2s and isn’t going away any time soon.
