Justin Bieber is still Canada’s favourite homegrown pop star after winning the top artist award at the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto on Sunday June 16th 2013.
The pop star was named Your Fave Artist/Group Of The Year, beating his protegee Carly Rae Jepsen and rapper Drake, but he failed to turn up to accept his prize.
Taylor Swift added another trophy to her impressive collection by picking up the Fave International Artist/Group Of The Year, while Viral Video Of The Year went to Psy for Gangnam Style.
In the Canadian categories, Video Of The Year went to Inner Ninja by Classified, while rockers Marianas Trench picked up Pop Video Of The Year for Desperate Measures.
Demi Lovato‘s promo for Heart Attack was named International Video Of The Year (Artist), and Thrift Shop by MACklemore and Ryan Lewis was honoured with the International Video Of The Year (Group) accolade.
