California pop-rock band No Doubt will be making their long-anticipated return to music this September with a new album on September 25, the band said on their website over the weekend.

The group, comprising lead singer Gwen Stefani, guitarist Tom Dumont, bassist Tony Kanal and drummer Adrian Young, will release their first record in more than a decade following 2001’s Rock Steady.

There is no title yet, but No Doubt did reveal a handful of tracks on which they’d been working in a June 2011 interview with Rolling Stone magazine, including the “party-ready reggae blast” track “Steady Down” and ska-pop tune “One More Summer.”

The quartet from Anaheim, California, formed in 1986 and rose to fame in 1992 with their hit single “Don’t Speak,” helping lead the ska revival of the 1990s, a musical genre originating from Caribbean dance music in Jamaica in the 1950s.

The band took a hiatus in 2004, pursuing solo projects, before reuniting for a greatest hits tour in the summer of 2009 and hitting the road for more than 50 concerts across the US and Canada, supported by acts including Katy Perry.

Lead singer Stefani also gained success as a solo artist with hits such as “Hollaback Girl” from her 2004 album Love. Angel. Music. Baby and “Wind It Up” from her second album The Sweet Escape in 2006, as well as launching a fashion career with her own clothing label.

Almost six years after his departure from the group, former Backstreet Boys member Kevin Richardson has declared that he will be returning to the boy band.

“Now everything is back to normal…welcome back Kevin Richardson,” the group—Brian Littrell, Nick Carter, Howie Dorough and A.J. McLean—tweeted yesterday from their official account.

BSB officially made the announcement Sunday during their concert at London’s O2 Arena.

“I think we should let them in on the secret that we have. Since we love you guys so much, we are going to be back this year,” Nick told the crowd, and Brian added, “And Kevin is coming back!”

The 40-year-old, who amicably departed from the group in June 2006 to pursue other interests, also confirmed the news via Twitter, posting, “Hello beau-ti-ful people. Yes, the cat is OFFICIALLY out of the bag. It’s on and crackin!”

German dance act Cascada, led by the always enthusiastic and hottie Natalie Horler, have unveiled the video for “Summer of Love”, the first single from the group’s new album coming out later in 2012 via Zooland Records – The party-ready, and pop anthem “Summer of Love” – produced by band members Manuel Reuter and Yann Peifer – sees the group sticking to their roots with its infectious hook and euphoric dance beat.

Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan was detained at A New York airport for two hours Thursday as he arrived to visit Yale University, where he was honoured as a Chubb Fellow.

Khan, who was detained by the immigration authorities, was allowed to go only after his hosts intervened and took up the issue with the Department of Homeland Security in Washington, according to sources.

As part of the Yale Chubb Fellowship, Khan later attended a reception and dinner at Timothy Dwight College at New Haven Connecticut with over 120 Yale students including members of the South Asian Society at Yale, before taking a return flight Thursday night.

Before addressing the students at Yale University after joining the roster of Yale University’s Chubb Fellows, one of the Ivy League institution’s highest honours, for promoting human ideals through art, Khan recalled he was “detained” at the airport “as always happens”.

Due to Khan’s detention at the airport, the Yale event in New Haven started an hour late.

In August 2009 also, Khan was stopped at the Newark Airport and was released after two hours at the intervention of the Indian consulate in New York.

“I was really hassled at the American Airport because of my name being Khan…It was absolutely uncalled for…I felt angry and humiliated,” said Shah Rukh, who was then heading towards Chicago to participate in an Independence Day celebration event.

“It is a Muslim name and I think the name is common on their checklist,” he had then said.

The Chubb Fellowship is devoted to encouraging and aiding Yale students interested in the operations of government and in public service. Each year three or four distinguished men and women have been appointed as visiting Chubb Fellows.

Former Chubb Fellows include presidents George W. Bush, Ronald Reagan, and Jimmy Carter; authors Octavio Paz, Carlos Fuentes, and Toni Morrison; filmmaker Sofia Coppola; architect Frank Gehry; choreographer Mikhail Baryshnikov; and journalist Walter Cronkite.

The bubbly, young and energetic girl, who started her career with films like Ghulam (which was instantly popular for its song “Aati Kya Khandala”) and the mega hit Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (playing Shahrukh Khan’s college crush), now feels out of place in the same industry that welcomed her with open arms when she was younger.

Despite having an interesting mix of commercially and critically acclaimed films such as Black and Hum Tum to her credit, Rani Mukerji, the multiple award-winning actor, seems to have lucked out in the past few years. Her recent roles — as a feisty cricket-crazy Punjabi girl in Dil Bole Hadippa, the wife of a racer (Saif Ali Khan) in Ta Ra Rum Pum and a call girl in Laaga Chunri Mein Daag — all seemed to be rather desperate attempts to make her presence felt.

However, despite all these setbacks, the actor doesn’t have an ounce self-doubt and her role of a blind and deaf girl in Black is testimony of what she is capable of doing. She will now be seen in Aamir Khan’s upcoming film, Talaash, which is directed by critically acclaimed film-maker Reema Kagti and co-produced by Excel Entertainment. The film stars Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Mukerji herself in the lead roles.

The trailer of the suspense thriller, which was released recently, looks promising. Although, Mukerji doesn’t look any different in her typical sari-clad look, the film, scheduled to be released in June this year, is definitely one of the most anticipated releases of this year.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are officially engaged! Angelina was seen wearing the glorious engagement ring two nights ago at a private viewing of the LA County Museum of Art with Brad and their son Pax.

“Yes, it’s confirmed,” said Brad’s manager Cynthia Pett-Dante. “It is a promise for the future and their kids are very happy. There’s no date set at this time. Brad designed the ring.”

It was Perez Hilton’s birthday last night at the Siren Studios in Hollywood & Pink was there! Now Perez as we all know is known for his blog and the gossips. Kim Kardashian is a frequent guest on Perez Hilton’s rather infamous gossip pages, especially with her divorce drama with Kris Humphries. But it appears as if she harbors no hard feelings towards the outspoken blogger as she recently attended his big 34th birthday bash at Siren Studios in Hollywood.

While it’s not exactly clear what the theme of the party was, Hilton himself channeled “Desi Boy Look” with a bit of the exotic. Donning an elaborate turban, a heavily embellished ‘sherwani’ and shoes fit for Aladdin, party-goers had no problem locating the guest of honor. And the parrot on his shoulder was the best part.

Katy Perry has soundly denied the rumor that her song “Part of Me” has anything to do with her divorce from Russell Brand. That said, the song is an amazing break up anthem. Perry has released the video for her newest single and it’s not what you’d expect.

Instead of showing traditional break up visuals like burning some guys clothes, fights with now sound, punching walls, etc., “Part of Me” has Perry joining the American Marines. It’s actually far more dramatic to see her, post break up, hacking off her hair in a bathroom than it would be to see her crying in the rain or something.

Not only that, but we see her go through training, bonding with her fellow Marines and burning the apology letter she gets from her ex. This is not the usual Katy Perry-style video. The makeup is gone and it’s as far from glamorous as it can get, but it pays homage to American troops and the scores of brave women around the world.

They all live in a four storied building with 100 rooms in a mountainous village in Mizoram state, sharing borders with Burma and Bangladesh, according to reports.

“I once married 10 women in one year,” Ziona Chana said.

His wives share a dormitory near Ziona’s private bedroom and locals said he likes to have seven or eight of them by his side at all times.

The sons and their wives, and all their children, live in different rooms in the same building, but share a common kitchen.

The wives take turns cooking, while his daughters clean the house and do washing. The men do outdoor jobs like farming and taking care of livestock.

The family, all 167 of them, consumes around 200lb of rice and more than 130lb of potatoes a day. They are supported by their own resources and occasional donations from followers.

“Even today, I am ready to expand my family and willing to go to any extent to marry,” Ziona said.

“I have so many people to care (for) and look after, and I consider myself a lucky man.”

Mr Chana met his oldest wife, who is three years older than he is, when he was 17.

He heads a local Christian religious sect, called the “Chana”, which allows polygamy. Formed in June 1942, the sect believes it will soon be ruling the world with Christ and has a membership of around 400 families.

He keeps the youngest women near to his bedroom with the older members of the family sleeping further away – and there is a rotation system for who visits Mr Chana’s bedroom.

Rinkmini, one of Mr Chana’s wives who is 35 years old, said: ‘We stay around him as he is the most important person in the house. He is the most handsome person in the village.

She says Mr Chana noticed her on a morning walk in the village 18 years ago and wrote her a letter asking for her hand in marriage.
Another of his wives, Huntharnghanki, said the entire family gets along well. The family system is reportedly based on ‘mutual love and respect’

Chana, whose religious sect has 4,00 members, says he has not stopped looking for new wives.

‘To expand my sect, I am willing to go even to the U.S. to marry,’ he said.

One of his sons insisted that Mr Chana, whose grandfather also had many wives, marries the poor women from the village so he can look after them.
